WICHITA FALLS, Texas (Volleyball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville's (17-5, 7-3 LSC) won six consecutive sets on Saturday in D.L. Ligon Coliseum after dealing with host Midwestern State University (8-12, 3-7 LSC) 25-20, 25-16, 25-14, and defeating St. Edward's University (8-11, 6-1 Heartland Conference) 25-22, 25-16, 25-23. Â
Head coach Tanya Allen belted her 100th career win as the leader of Texas A&M-Kingsville volleyball program and the team has won ten consecutive sets, their longest streak of the season. TAMUK record improves to 6-2 when playing their next opponent after a sweep. Â
In the final conference match of the weekend, the Javelinas rolled over the Mustangs in straight sets by hitting .225, recording nine blocks and had a sideout percentage of 67. Midwestern State had no answer for A&M-Kingsville's defense that forced them into 21 attacking errors, 12 service errors and three ball handling errors. Lexi Wick had a team-high of 14 points behind nine kills, three blocks and two service aces, while senior Ashley Bukowski followed suit with six kills and one ace. Madison Brabham and Krystal Faison combined for nine kills and Taliah Phipps set a new individual career-high with four service aces. Casey Klobedans set up 27 kills in the match and Haley Hutchinson held down the middle defensively with six total blocks.
The Javs ended the weekend against St. Edward's where they hit .306 on 51 kills. Bukowski paced the club with 12 kills in the nonconference match against and Wick finished with 11 kills and two blocks. Faison picked up her 12th double-double of the season with 10 kills, and team-high 15 digs to go along with her single service ace. Klobedans also had a double-double with 42 assists and ten digs while tying Hutchinson with six kills.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
The opening set was tight with the Hogs clinging to a 13-11 lead early before uncorking a 9-1 run to create distance for a 22-12 lead. After a timeout by the Mustangs, the home team committed two errors and Faison ended the set soon after with a kill giving them a 25-20 victory. Wick totaled three kills and recorded two of the clubs three service aces.Â
Set 2
After 14 errors in the first set, the Stang Gang continued to sting themselves with three early errors to help Kingsville take a 5-1 lead. Bukowski came alive in the set with three kills and an ace while both Wick and Brabham followed with two kills. MSU had five service errors alone in set No. 2, including the final point that gave TAMUK the 25-16 win.
Set 3
Texas A&M-Kingsville continued its dominance in the third set and dismantled the home team 25-14 to complete the sweep.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
Late in the set with the score tied 19-19, St. Edward's made three consecutive attacking errors to put the Javs in control. TAMUK went on to win the set 25-22 with ten kills split evenly between Bukowski and Wick.Â
Set 2
The Hogs handled their business more convincingly in the set No. 2 to win 25-15 behind four kills from both Faison and setter, Klobedans. Hutchinson and Bukowski each had three kills and Wick and Brabham finished with two kills.
Set 3
Kingsville defeated St. Edward's in a tight third set 25-23 led by Bukowski who gathered four straight kills and then followed with a service ace and block to lead the team with 5.5 points. Faison and Wick also had four kills and combined for an ace and a block, respectively, in the set.

The Blue and Gold return to the SPEC Tuesday, October 18 for their second meeting of the season against RV Tarleton State University at 7 p.m.Â
