DENTON, Texas (Women's Basketball) – Joslyn Smith made her first start of the season and eight of her 10 rebounds came on the offensive end and defensively, the forward added four steals in Texas A&M University-Kingsville's (5-11, 0-6 LSC) 57-40 loss to #RV Texas Woman's University (16-3, 6-1 LSC) Thursday evening at the Kitty Magee Arena. 
The 10 rebounds match her season-high (third time) and the four steals are the most for Smith in a single game in 2015-16. Five others recorded two steals as Texas A&M-Kingsville finished with 15 steals and forced 26 Pioneer turnovers. 
Kaylin Roher led all scorers with 16 points. 
The Javelinas struggled shooting the ball all evening, finishing 14-74 from the field and the TWU frontcourt was able to secure the victory for the Pioneers, led by Erin Maxwell's six blocked shots. 
Through the first period, Texas Woman's led 20-13 and outscored the Javelinas 16-9 in the second to head into the half with a 36-22 edge. However, the Hogs came out firing in the third period to cut their deficit to 10 and TWU held TAMUK to two points in the fourth to pick up its sixth Lone Star Conference victory. 
The third game of a four-game break takes place on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 6 p.m. when the Javelinas host Cameron University at the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.
