BEAUMONT, Texas (Women's Basketball) – Kaylin Roher went 5-of-10 from behind-the-arc to finish with 21 points and two other Javelinas reached double figures in the 82-66 exhibition loss to Lamar University (3-6) on Thursday evening in the Montagne Center.
Texas A&M University-Kingsville remains at 5-5 on the year. Roher's 21 points marked the second time the League City, Texas native recorded 20 points. She added four assists and three steals against the Cardinals.
TaSheena Moore was 3-of-6 from three-point range for 12 points and five rebounds and
Jamesha Wade registered 11 points.
Lamar was able to take a quick 24-8 lead after period No. 1 and went into the half leading 46-27. However, TAMUK came out firing in the third period, outscoring LU 27-14 to cut its deficit to six heading into the fourth, 60-54. The Hogs cut it to three following Roher's free throws at the 0:28 mark in the third. The comeback fell just short as Kingsville fell to the Division I Cardinals, 82-66.
JaMeisha Edwards led all scorers with 31 points on 11-of-22 shooting, Laka Blache registered a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Addesha Collins pitched in with 10 points off the bench.
The Javelinas close out 2015 with an exhibition at the University of Texas at San Antonio (3-4) at 2 p.m. on Dec. 19 in the Convocation Center.

Scouting UTSAThe Roadrunners have a 7-1 edge in meetings versus the Hogs with the last matchup taking place 20 years ago on Nov. 25, 1995.
UTSA began the week with a 106-65 victory over Howard Payne on Dec. 15. The game began a five-game homestand for the Roadrunners and was the highest point total for the Conference USA member since Dec. 7, 1993 when they defeated Prairie View A&M 105-38. Tesha Smith is leading the way for the Roadrunners with 13.0 points on 52 percent shooting and 8.4 rebounds per game. Niaga Mitchell-Cole adds 9.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.7 steals and Akunna Elonu is scoring 8.4 points and pulling down 5.4 rebounds.
