KINGSVILLE, Texas (Men's Basketball) – No. 8/7 Angelo State University (19-1, 7-0 LSC) extended its win streak to 14 games as the nation's highest shooting team shot 52 percent from the floor to defeat the shorthanded Texas A&M University-Kingsville Javelinas (6-13, 1-6 LSC), 85-67, on Saturday evening at the Gil H. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.

Fresh of a career-high performance,
Duan Wright continued to be a menace on the glass, pulling down seven rebounds in the first half and swatting away three shots. He finished with 16 points and career bests with nine rebounds and four blocks.

As a team, the Javelinas blocked six shots in the opening frame, but two scoring droughts allowed the Rams to head into the locker room with a 39-32 lead.
Troy Jones went 3-of-5 to score eight points and
Don Thomas added a team-high nine points.

A 15-0 run early in the second half blew the game open for the Rams as the league's hottest team stayed perfect, improving to 7-0 in conference play. Wright reached double figures for the third consecutive game, scoring 16 points and Jones reached double figures for the 18
th time this season, going 5-of-7 from the field for 12 points. Thomas added 11 points.

Chris Jones led all players with 23 points as the Rams featured four players in double figures.
