KINGSVILLE, Texas – Micah Weaver led the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team (0-10) with a game-high 17 points as they fell 77-46 to Our Lady of the Lake (10-3) Saturday afternoon in Gil H. Steinke Physical Education Center on Kingsville Hampton Inn Court. The defeat was the first for the Javelinas in seven meetings against the Saints.
Following an opening basket by OLLU on their first possession, Weaver drove the length of the court for a game-tying layup. OLLU responded with a 13-2 run over a 4:26 span to take a commanding lead in the contest.

Alexis Copeland cut the Blue and Gold's deficit to 24-16. The Saints responded by scoring 10 straight points to force a timeout by the Javelinas. Coming out of the short break, TAMUK went on an 8-0 run with Weaver scoring half of the points.
OLLU outscored the Javelinas 11-2 to end the first period as
Ope Ibrahim made the lone basket for the Blue and Gold with less than two minute left on the clock.
Both squads struggled offensively in the second half. Neither team shot above 35 percent with the Saints making 31.6 percent of their shots and TAMUK nailing 21.2 percent. The Javelinas did close the game on a high note as they finished the contest on an 8-2 run capped off by a free throw by Ibrahim.
Along with her point total, Weaver also led the Hogs with three assists while adding five rebounds, a block and a steal. Both Ibrahim and Jay grabbed a team-high seven rebounds while Ibrahim blocked a game-best two shots.
Tessa Ramirez and Copeland recorded two steals apiece.
The Blue and Gold begin Lone Star Conference play this Wednesday with a home game against Texas Woman's at 6 p.m.
