@TAMUKVBALL to Host the Lions, Pioneers

KINGSVILLE, Texas (Volleyball) -- The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's volleyball team hosts a pair of Lone Star Conference this Friday and Saturday as it hosts Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday at 7 p.m. and Texas Woman's on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Javelinas won their last match entering the weekend and stand 8-4 on the year and 1-3 in the LSC. The Lions are also 1-3, while the Pioneers are 4-1 in LSC play. A&M-Commerce is 3-10 overall and TWU is 8-4 overall.

Through 12 matches, the Javelinas have three players in the top 10 of the conference in hitting percentage with two in the top five. Ashley Tipps is second the conference with a .343 percentage, while Ashley Bukowski is third at .340. Stephanie Johns is eighth at .297. Casey Klobedans is ranked fifth in service aces at .35 and Krystal Faison is sixth with .34. Klobedans is also ranked third in assists per sets with 9.22. Bukowski also ranks at the top of the LSC in kills in seventh place with 3.06.

Kingsville sits atop the LSC in hitting percentage with .265. The Hoggies are also ranked second in both blocking, averaging 2.38, and service aces, averaging 1.40. The Javelina women are third in the conference in kills per set averaging 13.09 per set this season.

Several other players are ranked amongst the LSC leaders.  Brett Zaccardo, the Javelina libero, is seventh in digs at 4.38 a set. Shaquinn Parker and Tipps are in the top 10 for blocking in the conference. Parker is third with 1.14 and Tipps is in tenth with 1.00 per set.

A&M-Commerce is led by Amy Devault, who is second in the LSC with 4.04 kills a set, and setter Courtney Tate. Tate is second in the league with 9.75 assists a set. Defensively, Ashley Mireles leads the defense with 4.63 digs a set and is fourth in the LSC.

Texas Woman's is first in the LSC in blocks per set as a team with 2.41 just ahead of Kingsville (2.38). Defensively, the Pioneers are third in the conference with 18.14 digs per set. Individually, Elizabeth Pennington is third the league in aces with .37 and Morgan Wilson is second in the conference with 5.49 digs. Joey Redwine sets the table for the offense averaging 7.85 assists.
