ODESSA, Texas (Volleyball) – The 12-6 Texas A&M University-Kingsville volleyball team looks to improve to 3-0 against the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (7-10) on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6 p.m.

Kingsville earned a 3-1 victory over UTPB in their inaugural meeting on Sept. 4, 2009 at the Texas Woman's University Tournament and downed the Falcons, 3-2, last season at the Chaps Classic in Lubbock (Sept. 14).

The Hogs enter the week 8-2 against nonconference opponents. Coming off a heartbreaking 3-2 loss at the hands of St. Edward's University (12-2) on Saturday, TAMUK continues its dramatic rise to the No. 7 spot nationally in blocks per set at 2.5

Last week,
Ashley Tipps showcased her stellar defense, posting back-to-back 7.0 block performances against Our Lady of the Lake and St. Edward's. In Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Saints, Tipps finished with one solo block and six assisted and added six kills and followed with seven blocks, eight kills and 12.0 points against the Hilltoppers on Saturday.

Casey Klobedans registered two double-doubles and finished Wednesday's match with 43 assists, 10 digs and three blocks. Three days later, the Boerne native recorded 46 assists, 15 digs and five blocks for her fourth double-double of the 2014 campaign at SEU.
