Lady Buffs Stop Hoggies

  KINGSVILLE---West Texas A&M, the sixth-ranked team in NCAA Division II, ended the Texas A&M-Kingsville eight-match victory streak, 3-0, here Saturday afternoon, compiling a .358 attack percentage. (box score)
   
The Lady Buffs increased their win streak to 13 in a row.
   
West Texas took the sets, 25-21, 25-14, 25-18.
   
Melissa Harper led the WT attack with 16 kills and a .625 percentage.  Laura Prinsen had 12 kills and a .364 attack percentage and Natalie Johnson had 11 kills and a .346 percentage.
   
Lauren Beville had 14 digs.
   
The Javelinas had a .149 attack percentage and were led by Sha Tramble, who recorded 11 kills and a .312 percentage.
   
Virginia Hernandez had 14 digs to top the Javelinas in that statistical category.
   
The Javelinas fell to 17-10 for the year and 6-5 in the LSC standings.  West Texas moved to 29-3 for the year and 12-0 in the conference.
   
TAMUK will close its regulation season Thursday and Saturday against Abilene Christian and Angelo State on the road.
