Wildcats Down Javelinas

  KINGSVILLE---The Abilene Christian Wildcats rode a .239 attack percentage to a 3-0 victory over the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas in a Lone Star Conference volleyball match here Saturday afternoon in the Steinke Center.  Boxscore
    The Wildcats took the games, 25-18, 25-15, 25-19.
    The Javelinas, who fell to 3-8 for the year and 1-1 in the LSC standings, had a .049 attack percentage.
    ACU recorded 46 kills to 24 for the Javelinas.
    Shaday Smith was the TAMUK attack leader with a .176 percentage and she had six kills, also the Javelinas' individual high in that category.
    Shawna Hines led the Wildcat offense with a .364 attack percentage and she had 12 kills.  Jennie Hutt had 13 kills and a .273 percentage.
    Ijeoma Moronu had 35 sets for the Wildcats while Kirby Krueger had 13 for the Javelinas.
    Virginia Hernandez had 16 digs for the Javelinas, high for the team and the game.  Amy Wilson had 15 for ACU.
    Hines had five blocks for the Cats and Kristin Chancellor had four for the Javelinas.
    ACU, which had lost its LSC opener to Tarleton State Thursday night, moved to 11-2 for the year and like the Javelinas, is 1-1 in the league standings.
    The Javelinas remain at home Tuesday to host Texas A&M International in a 7 p.m. non-conference matchup.
