Almanzar took a no hitter into the seventh in game three against Lubbock Christian at Nolan Ryan Field before it was broken up on the leadoff batter en route to a 4-0 victory. He finished with six strikeouts and only two hits allowed to take his first win in the Blue and Gold in his third start of 2020.

On the year, Almanzar lowered his ERA to 2.45 through 14.2 innings on the hill with a team-high 21 strikeouts. His season-high nine strikeouts came in his second start of the season on February 9 against Cameron as he went four innings on the bump and took the no-decision.
