Harper claimed the heptathlon title for the Javelinas at the Boo Rogers Combined Events hosted by Pittsburg State after climbing up the ranks from third following the first day of competition. He finished the two-day meet with 5505 points, ahead of Angelo State’s Alexandros Spyridonidis with 5448, while teammate Dean Wallace (Geronimo, Texas) finished sixth.

Harper’s total stood as the second-best mark in NCAA Division II following the week as well as an automatic qualifier for the indoor championships in May. It was also ended up second all-time in Javelina history, just shy of Valentin Charles’ 5642 at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Championships at the same site.

Day one saw Harper in third with a point total of 3601 after four events, including a high point of 854 in the 60m dash to begin competition. He added two additional 800-point finishes in the 60m hurdles (877) and the pole vault (819) to land on the top spot of the podium.
