Vaughn turned in a career performance for the track and field program in the long jump as he broke the Javelina record and the LSC meet record on the final day of competition at the outdoor championships.

The New Haven, Conn., native leaped to 8.03m (26-4.25) to claim the gold, came away with an NCAA Automatic Qualifier and bested the previous meet record set back in 1196 by Angelo State’s Darren Session by nearly a half-foot.

Vaughn’s mark also stands alone atop the NCAA Descending Order List by nearly a quarter-meter.
