For the softball program, Smith also took her second LSC Pitcher of the Week award as she threw her second no-hitter of 2019 in the form of a 10-striekout shutout of MSU Texas. She allowed only a single baserunner while firing the third seven-inning no hitter in program history and became the first Javelina to ever toss two no-hitters in the same season.

The accomplishment came after she earned a complete game win in her first start of the week on Friday, April 19, and she crafted a 1.00 ERA while she held opponents to a .091 batting average to lead the Blue and Gold to a series sweep over the Mustangs.

On the year, Smith added another win and a save in a doubleheader sweep of St. Mary’s (TX) earlier this week to move her season record to 14-3 with three saves, adding an LSC-leading 1.75 ERA along with 102 strikeouts in 132 and 1/3 innings pitched.
