Troy Lopez

Troy Lopez enters his second season as the head coach of the Javelina Women's Golf Team after being named the programs newest head coach in 2024.

Hailing from Corpus Christi, Lopez currently serves as the interim head coach for both the men's and women's golf teams at University of Texas Permian Basin. He was the assistant coach of both programs before becoming the interim head coach.

In Lopez's time with the Falcons, both the women's and men's teams finished with the highest rankings in school history for the 2023-24 season. The women's program was tabbed the No. 40 program in Division II while the men's program finished at No. 19. 

Lopez has also coached three first team all-conference selections for the Lone Star Conference and a second team all-conference selection for both teams. His players have also received Freshman of the Year, Newcomer of the Year and Player of the Year awards.

Before becoming a coach, Lopez played four years of collegiate golf at UTPB. Being elected captain of the team all four years he was at the program. Lopez was a four-year Letterman at Mary Carroll High School and was named all-south Texas high school golf MVP in 2016.

Lopez received a Bachelor's degree in kinesiology with a minor in communications from UTPB.
