DJ Slifer

DJ Slifer was named Texas A&M University-Kingsville assistant women’s basketball coach in August 2016 and is now in his second year with the program. Slifer spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team at the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
 
Prior to his stint at UMSL, Slifer was the graduate manager at Indiana State University for two seasons. He spent his first year with the Sycamores as the director of operations before taking on the role of video coordinator in year two.
 
A four-year letterwinner at the University of Central Missouri (2009-13), Slifer held the Mules to an 86-31 overall record, four consecutive MIAA conference championships and three NCAA Division II tournament appearances, including a Sweet 16 berth in 2010.
 
A 2012 graduate of Central Missouri, Slifer earned a bachelor’s in sports management and was a two-time MIAA Academic Honor Roll selection. He received his master’s degree in sport management at Indiana State in 2015. He resides in Kingsville.
