Biography
2012-13: Banaszczak played in 21 games earning 12 starts. She missed a handful of games due to injury. Banaszczak averaged 5/9 points a game with 2.9 rebounds. The senior had four double-digit performances including a career-high 13 points at home against Cameron in the team’s Lone Star Conference opener. She added 12 points versus Our Lady of the Lake and had 10 at Texas A&M International and 10 against Abilene Christian. She missed the first double-double of her career by grabbing nine against Our Lady of the Lake. Banaszczak had five steals on two occasions.
Previous: Banaszczak played two seasons at Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Mo. As a sophomore she averaged 6.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game while knocking down 23 three-pointers. She shot 91 percent from the foul line and dished out 2.6 assists per game for a team that went 15-16 last year. As a freshman, she contributed 7.2 points and 2.0 rebounds per game.
High School: Banaszczak attended LXXII Liceum in Warsaw where she played basketball under head coach Maciej Gordon. During her last season she averaged 18 points per game with a high of 41 points. She led her team to a third place finish in the Polish National Tournament in 2008.
Personal: Banaszczak is the daughter of Janusz and Malgorzata Banaszczak and is studying biomedicine with a minor in nutrition.
