Dennis Furr

Dennis Furr joined the Javelina softball coaching staff in the summer of 2019 and is in his first year as a member of Craig Nicholson's staff.

Furr brings with him 15 years of experience as a head coach, both at the college and high school level, and he spent the last two seasons leading the Cameron Aggies. In both of his seasons in Lawton, Furr's squads reached NCAA Regionals. In 2019, the Aggies won the South Central Regional 2 Tournament title before falling to the Javelinas in the super regional series. CU finished the year ranked No. 11 in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association poll and placed two student-athletes on the NFCA All-American roster.

Prior to his stint at Cameron, Furr spent time as the head coach for three high school teams in Oklahoma, totaling 10 appearances in the state tournament and piling up 388 wins at the prep level. In 2015, he was honored with the Michelle Smith Award as the most outstanding softball coach in the state. This award followed a season in which Furr led Chickasha High School to its second consecutive state championship. Furr also accomplished this feat with Lawton-MacArthur High School, whom he guided to the 5A state title in 2008 and 2009.
