Carter McBurnett is in his first year at Texas A&M-Kingsville as the assistant softball coach. He will work primarily with the Javelina outfield and also coach first base. He also emphasizes an aggressive approach to base-running.
Prior to joining the Javelina softball team, Coach McBurnett served as a student assistant for two seasons with Tarleton State University softball as an outfield coach.
Coach McBurnett played baseball at Frank Phillips College and North Lake College as an outfielder. He also played baseball in the Dallas Amateur Baseball Association league.
Coach McBurnett earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Tarleton State University in the fall of 2012.
Coach McBurnett is the proud son of John and Cindy McBurnett and brother of Cameron McBurnett who all reside in his hometown of Waco, Texas.
