Tim Miller will enter into his second year as the throwing coach for the Texas A&M-Kingsville track and field teams in September 2015.

In 2016, Miller coached one All-American in Christian Garcia, three All-LSC throwers (Richard Cervantes, Cheyanne Nalle, and Garcia) and had four athletes qualify to compete in nationals (Valeria Vrana, Nalle, Cervantes and Garcia).

He spent the last year and a half at Hardin-Simmons in Abilene, Texas. During his time with the Cowboys, Miller oversaw throwers that set six outdoor and four indoor school records. Two athletes qualified for the NCAA Championships and one, Dusty Baker, earned All-American status in the discus this past spring.

A total of 12 HSU throwers earned All-American Southwest Conference honors with 10 of them being conference champions. He also designed and implemented strength and conditioning programs for throwing athletes, pole vaulters and other select athletes.

Prior to join the Cowboys staff, Miller served two years as an assistant coach with Daemen College in Amherst, New York. He coached both jumpers and throwers while developing and implementing the strength and conditioning program for the entire team. In 2012, seven performers earned All-American Mideast Conference honors.

Miller was an assistant coach from 2008-10 with Erie Community College in Williamsville, N.Y. His coaching helped 22 athletes qualify for the NJCAA National Championships. Three won national titles and Brent Titus set a national record in the discus with a throw of 182-8 (55.69m). In 2009, Miller was named the inaugural NJCAA Division III National Assistant Coach of the Year.

The Buffalo, N.Y. native competed four years at SUNY Fredonia. In the spring of 2006 he was a SUNY Athletic Conference All-Academic selection.

Miller completed his Master’s of Education, Kinesiology, Sport and Recreation from Hardin-Simmons in 2015. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in exercise science from SUNY Fredonia in 2008.
