Biography

Prior To Kingsville: Walls played his first three college seasons in San Antonio for Lone Star Conference rival Incarnate Word where he was a leader for the Cardinal. In his final season as a Cardinal, he was named to the the Daktronics South Central Regional first team, National Collegiate Baseball Writers South Central Region second team and was the first team All-Lonestar Conference shortstop leading the league in runs and steals. In 52 games, he hit .361 and was ranked in the top 30 nationally in five different catego- ries. He was ninth in walks (42 ), 17th in stolen bases (34), and 29th in runs scored (57). He accumulated a team-high 20 multiple-hit games and reached base in 26 consecutive games at one stretch. As a sophomore, Walls started 41 games earning second team All-Lone Star Conference honors. He led the team with 36 runs scored, 27 walks and 16 stolen bases. He went 3-for-4 with three runs and a triple in the final regular season game of the year against Texas A&M-Kingsville. In his freshman season, Walls hit .313 with a .407 on-base percentage and scored 51 runs en route to earning LSC Freshman of the Year honors. He played in all 55 games and had 23 multi-hit games. He smacked his first career homer at West Texas A&M on Mar. 19. He was 3-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBI’s against Cameron on Mar. 26. Three times during the year he had a double and a triple in the same game.

HighSchool: Walls played baseball for four seasons and football for three at Reagan High School.

Personal: Walls is the son of Dwayne and Diana Walls and is studying business management. He has a brother, Dustin, who was an All-American for the Cardinals. His father played football at Baylor, while his mother played basketball at Tarleton State.
