Jason Gonzales announced the hiring of assistant Thomas Simoneaux in the summer of 2015. Simoneaux joins the Texas A&M University-Kingsville coaching staff after a stellar three-year career at Louisiana Tech University.

As a senior in 2015, the infielder hit .302 in 35 games for the Bulldogs. After transferring from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Simoneaux played one season for his father, Wade Simoneaux, who coached with Gonzales at ULL during their playing days.

Thomas Simoneaux was a baseball camp director and the head coach for the 16U Texas Slam team. He will coach first base for the Javelinas and assist with recruiting, instructing infielders and outfielders, practice, scheduling, fundraising and facility upkeep.

He graduated from LA Tech Cum Laude in May 2015 and began to pursue a master’s in kinesiology, specializing in sports administration.
