Luke Prihoda

Luke Prihoda joined the Texas A&M University-Kingsville baseball coaching staff in the fall of 2014 as an assistant baseball coach. He serves as the team’s pitching coach.
 
He comes to Texas A&M-Kingsville after a stint in the business world after concluding his playing career.
 
Prihoda was All-American pitcher for the Sam Houston State Bearkats in 2007. He was also named Stopper of the Year and Southland Conference Student-Athlete of the Year before being selected in the 24th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2007 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft. The previous summer, he won the 2006 Defensive Pitcher of the Year for the Coastal Plain League.
 
From 2007-2010, he played in both the Diamondbacks and New York Yankees’ minor league organization, advancing to the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRaiders.
 
He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Sam Houston State in 2009 and is currently working on a master’s degree in sports management from Texas A&M-Kingsville.
 
Prihoda, a Weimar native, began his collegiate career at McLennan Community College in Waco. He currently resides in Kingsville.
