2015 (Jr.): Appeared in 49 games, starting 48, primarily at left field… saw action at second base and was the designated hitter six times… hit .268 with eight RBI and 17 walks… led the team with nine sacrifice bunts… spent the majority of the season as the No. 2 hitter in the batting order, setting the tone for the meat of the Javelina lineup… went 1-for-4 with a run scored in first career start, a win versus No. 10 Southern Arkansas (Feb. 7)… 2-for-4 with two runs and a double against Newman (Feb. 13) and followed with three runs, two hits, two walks and an RBI in game two win over Jets (Feb. 13)… closed out series versus NU at second base with a run scored and walk (Feb. 14)… hit safely in his first five games and scored a run in his first six games… two runs in win versus Texas College (Feb. 21)… went 2-for-4 at Texas A&M International (Feb. 24) and 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored in Lone Star Conference opening win versus No. 25/27 West Texas A&M (Feb. 27)… 2-for-4 as DH against WT (March 1)… six-game hit streak from March 1-8… two runs scored and two hits at Cameron (March 8)… had three other five-game hit streaks in 2015… eleven multi-hit games… scored three runs at Eastern New Mexico (April 18)… hit .317 against left-handers.
 
Angelina JC: Played two seasons for the Roadrunners… during freshman season, held a .323 batting average with one home run, 30 RBI and 25 runs… in 2014, he made the JUCO All-Star Game and concluded his junior college career with a .301 batting average, one home run, 17 RBI, 25 runs and nine stolen bases.
 
High School: Earned three varsity letters at Bridge City High School… advanced to the regional semifinals during all three seasons… awarded all-district shortstop, All-KOGT and All-Orange County shortstop during junior and senior years… selected on Super Gold Team during senior year.
 
Personal: Born Zachary Smith in Bridge City, Texas… son of Greg and Terry Smith… has three sisters and one brother: Chuck Guilhas, Debbie Harris, Lori LaRose and Arlene Granger… exercise science major.
