2015 (Sr.): Set the tone at the top of the Javelina batting order as a second baseman and designated hitter, starting 50 of the 51 games he appeared in… began the season on a seven-game hit streak that included three consecutive two-hit performances… finished with a .290 batting average, team-leading 45 runs scored and nine stolen bases… added 22 walks, 11 doubles, 51 hits, a home run and 20 RBI… went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and a double in home opener versus Newman (Feb. 13)… on Valentine’s Day, went 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles, followed by combining to go 4-for-7 with five runs in sweep of Texas College (Feb. 20-21)… began Lone Star Conference play 2-for-3 with two runs in win over West Texas A&M (Feb. 27)… two hits and two runs at Cameron (March 8)… went 2-for-3 in game two versus Eastern New Mexico (March 15) before concluding series with a three-hit performance that saw him reach base safely five times in the game… walk-off single to lead TAMUK to the four-game sweep over the Greyhounds… registered a double and triple in back-to-back games in wins over No. 6/13 Angelo State (March 22-23)… leadoff home run at St. Edward’s (March 24), finishing with three runs scored and two RBI… tallied five hits in series at Tarleton State (March 27-28)… nine-game hit streak from April 4-18 that saw his batting average rise from .277 to .300… scored two or more runs 13 times and recorded 16 multi-hit games.
 
2014 (Jr.): Appeared in 17 games, starting two at second base… used primarily as a pinch runner and late-inning defensive replacement… finished with four hits, three RBI, three walks and two hit by pitches… also swiped two bags in as many tries… went 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run scored and a stolen base in win over St. Edward’s (April 1)… followed with two runs scored and one RBI versus West Texas A&M (April 4)… pinch hit single and went 2-for-2 in game two versus Buffs (April 5)… concluded the season with a run scored in the final three games he appeared in… .409 on-base percentage.
 
Paris JC: Two seasons at Paris Junior College where played for Deron Clark… helped lead Paris to back-to-back regional tournaments… as a sophomore, Fickel hit .279 with 25 runs scored, 14 RBI and eight stolen bases… hit .247 in 34 contests in 2012.
 
High School: Two-sport athlete at Liberty Hill High School… earned four letters in baseball for Mike Kristan and two in football… after being named district Newcomer of the Year as a freshman, he appeared on the first-team all-district squad twice as a third baseman and shortstop… named to all-district team as a running back and honorable mention all-state… academic all-district as a senior.
 
Personal: Son of Brad and Jeannie Fickel… brother Braden played baseball at San Jacinto Junior College and McLennan Community College… business major.
