2015 (R-Jr.): Threw 3.2 innings in four appearances out of the bullpen, punching out three… did not allow a run in first three appearances of season, striking out three in 3.0 innings… three-pitch out in season debut against Southwestern Oklahoma State (Feb. 6)… struck out one in 0.2 innings in win over Texas College (Feb. 21)… 2.0 scoreless innings versus Lone Star Conference foe Angelo State (March 23).
 
2014 (R-So.): Appeared in seven games as a left-handed specialist… struck out five hitters in 3.1 innings… began the season with back-to-back scoreless appearances (2.0 total innings)… struck out two hitters versus Texas A&M International (March 25).
 
2013 (So.): Did not appear in any games for the Javelinas.
 
Laredo JC: Played one season at Laredo Junior College for coach Eric Gonzalez.
 
High School: Named district MVP, third team all-state, second team All-South Texas as a prep star at Bishop High School… selected to the THSBCA all-star team… member of the National Honor Society.
 
Personal: Son of Genaro and Carmela Huizar… has a brother, Matthew… kinesiology major and history minor.
