In 2013: Taska had a tremendous junior season becoming the fourth Javelina player to earn All-America honors on the diamond. He finished the season as the Lone Star Conference leader in home runs (7), RBI (52), total bases (125), and slugging percent- age (.558). Taska led the team with 30 extra-base hits including seven home runs, 18 doubles and five triples. He finished the season with second on the team with 22 multi- hit games including two, 4-hit games. Taska was also second with 13 multi-RBI games with seven, 2-RBI, five, 3-RBI, and one, 4-RBI contests. His 15-game hitting streak was the longest on the team. On the mound, Taska posted a 9-3 mark which was tied for third with the most wins on the season. He had a 3.32 ERA in 15 appearances with eight starts over 65-1/3 innings. Taska allowed one run in his first eight appearances
In 2012: Taska was named LSC Honorable Mention as a designated hitter after hitting .346 and leading the team with a .587 slugging percentage. He led the team with five homers, was second with a .430 on-base percentage and third with 29 RBI. He played in 36 games with 33 starts. Taska finished with seven multi-hit games with four, 3-hit games and three, 2-hit games, He also had seven games with multiple RBI, which was second on the team. He had a season-best four at home against A&M International as he finished 3-for-5 with three runs scored..
In 2011: Taska underwent season ending surgery in January.
In 2010: Taska was not expected to do much as a freshman, but proved the critics wrong by making 26 appearances and saving a school-record nine games. He picked up two saves in a doubleheader sweep at E. New Mexico (3/6). He made nine score- less outings and did not allow an earned run in 14 games during the season.
High School: Taska led Kingwood HS with a 1.02 ERA as a junior and with a .393 batting average as a senior. He led KHS to back-to-back state playoff appearances. He was a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Taska is the son of Al and Laurie Taska and is studying Business Finance.Â
