Biography

2015 (Sr.): Selected to All-Lone Star Conference first team for the second consecutive season after entering the starting rotation late into the season… tallied seven saves before moving into his starter’s role… preseason National Collegiate Baseball Writer’s Association (NCBWA) South Central Region first team reliever… finished with a 4-4 record, 3.35 earned run average, 59 strikeouts in 56.2 innings and held opponents to a .177 batting average… concluded career with 21 saves, second most in Javelina history… named LSC and NCBWA South Central Region Pitcher of the Week after punching out 12 hitters in 12.0 scoreless innings at No. 20/27 St. Mary’s (April 7)… threw 8.0 innings of three-hit ball in first career start in win over Cameron (April 11)… struck out 12 in final start of regular season, an 8.0 inning gem, to lead the Javelinas to a win over Tarleton State (May 1)… struck out nine in 5.0 innings of hitless ball out of the ‘pen in an extra-inning victory over Eastern New Mexico (March 16)… 26.2 consecutive scoreless innings streak began in win over Greyhounds and featured the senior lower his ERA from 6.48 to 1.67.
 
2014 (Jr.): All-Lone Star Conference first team selection after tying a single-season school record with 14 saves… appeared in 24 games as the closer for the Javelinas, compiling a 2.05 ERA in 22.0 innings… struck out 24 hitters and did not allow a home run, limiting opponents to a .225 batting average… allowed just three extra-base hits… eight games with multiple strikeouts… six consecutive saves (March 21-30) and ended the season with seven straight (April 11-May 18) without a blown save… tallied just one blown save… allowed a run in just three appearances… threw a scoreless inning 18 times, including a career-high 1.2 vs. Tarleton State (March 30).
 
NCTC: Played one season for Scott Harp at North Central Texas College… went 2-4 in 13 games with two complete games… struck out 49 batters in 66.2 innings of work.
 
UT Arlington: Appeared in two games as a member of the University of Texas at Arlington baseball program.
 
High School: Four-year letterman at Sanger High School for coach Chuck Galbrith… saw action on the mound and in the outfield… all-Area selection as a senior (2011) and all-district all four seasons… earned the Silver Slugger Award in 2010… career record of 21-9 on the bump and hit .460 with five home runs in 2011… also lettered as a member of the football squad, leading the district in receiving yards in 2009 and finishing second in 2010.
 
Club: Played summer baseball for the DBat Mustangs in 2011 and Dallas Tigers in 2010.
 
Personal: Son of Shelly and Chris Scott… has two younger siblings, Ross and Miranda… majoring in business management.
