KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team prepares for 2024 and the second semester as they matchup against the St. Mary's Rattlers to kick off the new year Thursday at 5:30 PM.

The Javelinas (4-8, 0-5 LSC) are heading into Thursday's matchup after closing out the year falling to the Texas A&M International Dustdevils 56-71.The Javelinas look to begin the new year turning things around as they have reached roughly the midway point in the tough LSC conference.

St. Mary's (2-8, 2-2 LSC) comes into Thursday looking for their own turnaround of fates after they closed out 2023 with a loss to #16 Montana state Billings 61-65.

The Javelinas and Rattlers have met a total 21 times dating back to the 2006-07 season. The Rattlers hold the overall matchup with a 13-8 all-time record. The last three matchups between these squads have ended in Javelina victories splitting the 21-22 season and sweeping the 2022-23 season series.
