Javelinas, winners of their last two, look to take their success on the road

TAMUK looks ahead to UAFS Lions as their out of state road trip begins

KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team prepares for the UAFS Lions as they hit the road looking to replicate their home success out on the Thursday at 5:30 P.M.

The Javelinas (6-8, 2-5 LSC) are heading into Thursday's matchup after two key home victories over the St. Mary's Rattlers 64-56 and the St. Edward's Hilltoppers 61-53. The Javelinas look to continue on this roll as they not only continue to have success but continue to cement their place in Javelina history as Mia Rivers last time out has broken the all-time Career Assists record for the Javelinas previously held by Lorie Martinez (1997-01), and Jayde Tschritter has moved into third place all-time for career three pointers made, a record previously held by Felicia Soza (2006-10). Shelby Ray has also shown to be of another caliber gathering two double doubles consecutively making it a career night both times out for her. The Javelinas came out of the Christmas break on fire, but now need to replicate that same success out on the road.

UAFS (4-9, 2-5 LSC) comes into Thursday looking for their first win of 2024 as the new year hasn't been kind to them dropping their last two on the road against tough opponents in #18 TWU and most recently #RV UT Tyler 60-70.

The Javelinas and Lions have met a total of 6 times dating back to the 2019-20 season. The Javelinas hold the overall matchup with a 5-1 all-time record, winning the last five matchups.
