LAST TIME OUT

The Javelinas (6-6, 3-3 LSC) return home after splitting a pair of road LSC matchups last week.

First, TAMUK knocked off St. Mary's in San Antonio, 60-53 behind stellar performances by Veyda Lake and Brianna Pena

Pena got hot early scoring eight of her eleven total points in the first quarter and ended up going 4-5 from the field including a perfect 2-2 from beyond the arc.

Lake ended the night leading the team in points scored with 13 on 6-7 shooting from the field. The sophomore forward also tacked on five rebounds in the winning effort.

On New Year's Day, the Javs fell in overtime to St. Ed's, 67-65 as the Hilltoppers hit a last second layup to take the game.

SCOUTING THE LIONS

UAFS (3-10, 1-6 LSC) comes into the SPEC having lost five of its last six games including back-to-back double-digit losses to Texas Woman's and UT Tyler last week.

The Lions currently average scoring 63.2 points per game while allowing opponents an average of 73.8 points per game, the worst margin in the LSC.

UAFS is also looking for their first road win of the season having dropped all seven previous opportunities.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

OC (1-10, 1-6 LSC) come to Kingsville after dropping two games last week to TWU and UT Tyler.

On the season, the Eagles only win came on Dec. 19 when they defeated UAFS, 65-48 which was first-year coach Markeith Brown first win at OC.

The Eagles are the lowest-scoring team in the LSC averaging only 59 points per game along with a turnover margin of –3.27 the fourth worst in the conference.

OC will be looking to win their first road game of the season, while also looking to avenge a 33-point loss suffered at the hands of the Javelinas last season in Kingsville.
