KINGSVILLE, Texas (Baseball) – Jako Kelm came in with the bases juiced and stranded the tying run at third for his fourth save of the season as #RV Texas A&M University-Kingsville (25-10) took a 4-3 victory Tuesday evening at Nolan Ryan Field. With the win, the Javelinas won their fifth consecutive ballgame and swept the series over Texas A&M International University (10-25) 3-0.
Pablo Hernandez finished 1-for-3 with two RBI and a triple,
Christian Caudle drove in a run on a double and reached two more times on walks and
Levi Zents walked three times and scored three runs.
Seven pitchers saw action on the rubber for the Hogs.
Nick Masarik tossed 2.0 innings, followed by scoreless frames by
Sebi Palacios and
Trey Taylor.
Alex Canul (1-0) received the victory with a punchout in 2.0 innings of work.
Tyler Crouch entered the game after Canul and went 2.0 scoreless.
Shane McCarley began the ninth before
Jako Kelm picked up his fourth save of the season in 0.2 innings.
Bishop native Kyle Kieschnick (1-3) was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs in 4.2 innings of work.
