KINGSVILLE, Texas (Baseball) – The Javelinas scored nine runs in the fifth inning of game two to take the latter game 9-3 over No. 17/11 West Texas A&M University (24-9, 13-6 LSC) as No. t-22 Texas A&M University-Kingsville (22-9, 13-6 LSC) and the Buffaloes remain tied atop the Lone Star Conference standings with Saturday afternoon's split at Nolan Ryan Field, 6-1, and 9-3.

In game two,
Dalton Perry went 2-for-3 with a run scored,
Wesley Aguilar was 2-for-2 with two RBI as the Javelinas put up the nine-spot in the fifth frame, taking a 2-1 lead in the series.

Game OneAustin Moore continued to hold his own on the mound for West Texas A&M as the Buffaloes took game one Saturday, 6-1, behind the right-hander's 14 strikeouts. Moore improved to 7-1 on the year, while
Jacob Foitek, who allowed three runs – two earned – in 4.2 innings fell to 2-1.
Michael Box tossed a scoreless seventh.

The game was scoreless early on before WT was able to plate two in the third and tacked on a run in the fifth and three in the sixth for a 6-0 lead. TAMUK plated one in the final inning but fell in the opener, 6-1.

Game TwoSmith scored two runs and Perry and Aguilar registered two hits apiece in the 9-3 victory over the Buffs. Down 3-0 heading into the fifth, the Javelinas scored nine runs on six hits.
Hunter Lehman tossed two scoreless innings, striking out three.
Jako Kelm improved to 3-2 in 2016 with three punchouts in 3.0 innings, while Justin McAllister fell to 3-2 after allowing five runs in 4.1 innings

West Texas A&M scored a run in the first, second and third innings to take a 3-0 lead into the latter part of the second game, but the Javelina offense woke up in full force, bringing in the nine runs. A leadoff infield single by
Pablo Hernandez began the frame and Smith, who bunted, scored on
Christian Caudle's RBI single. A suicide squeeze by Aguilar plated another run and Perry's bases loaded single tied the game at 3-3. A hard hit back up the middle by
Ruben Almaguer gave TAMUK a 4-3 lead and Hernandez was walked with the bases juiced, giving the Javelinas a two-run lead. Four more runs scored in the inning as Kingsville took a 9-3 lead into the final two innings.

Lehman came in and shut the door in the sixth and seventh.
