CANYON, Texas (Women's Basketball) –
Texas A&M University-Kingsville (5-8, 0-3 LSC) will look to shock the college basketball world Saturday afternoon when the Javelinas take on top-ranked West Texas A&M University (15-1, 4-1 LSC) at 2 p.m. inside the First United Bank Center.
 
The Lady Buffs are coming off their first loss of the season, a 69-64 loss at Angelo State University, turning the ball over 21 times. Despite shooting 50.0 percent from the field, the Lady Buffs' 15-game win streak to begin the season was snapped.
 
After beginning the season 5-1, the Javelinas have dropped seven consecutive games. In Wednesday's loss to Eastern New Mexico University, Ope Ibrahim recorded 13 points on 6-10 shooting and TaSheena Moore added 11 points.
 
Michaela Neuhaus leads the team averaging 10.8 points per game. She is 57 of 112 from the field for the year (.509) and is 27 of 65 from beyond the arc (.415). Second on the team in scoring for the year is Sasha Watson at 10.5 points per game as she is 53 of 116 from the field for a .457 clip and leads the team and the conference in assists (74) and steals (33). Madison McLain is third in scoring for the season at 8.1 points and leads the team with 28 triples
 
The Javelinas are led by Kaylin Roher who is averaging 11.2 points per game. She is 49 of 159 from the field (.308) and 28 of 85 from beyond the arc (.329) to lead the team. Her 20 steals are also the most on the squad. Moore is second in scoring at 8.0 points as she is 43 of 9 from the field (.443) and 11 of 37 from beyond the arc. Joslyn Smith leads the team in rebounding at 5.2 per game and adds 5.2 points per game.
 
The all-time series edge goes to WT, 54-8, with the Lady Buffs taking the last 12 consecutive meetings.
