CANYON, Texas (Baseball) – Despite falling 10-0 Friday evening at Wilder Park, #RV Texas A&M University-Kingsville (19-13, 13-7 LSC) still holds a 0.5 lead for first place in the Lone Star Conference over West Texas A&M University (21-12, 13-8 LSC).

Tyler Gibson (4-2) earned the win after tossing a shutout and striking out seven.
Ryan Benitez (5-2) was tagged with the loss but the senior struck out four in 6.0 innings.
Wesley Aguilar returned to short stop and went 1-for-2 and
JP Phillips also added a base knock from the nine-spot.
For the Buffs, two players registered three hits and as a team, West Texas finished with 14 hits.
WT took a 2-0 lead after scoring in the bottom of the first and the Buffs tacked on two runs in the fourth to head into the middle of the conference series opener with a 4-0 lead.
A big sixth inning allowed West Texas A&M to break the game open and take an 8-0 advantage, followed by two more runs in the seventh.
