KINGSVILLE, Texas (Women's Basketball) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville (5-4) will host a familiar foe when it returns to action Dec. 12 as Texas A&M International University (2-5) takes the short trip from Laredo to Kingsville for a 7 p.m. tip-off inside the Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.

The Javelinas, coming off finals week, are a perfect 2-0 against the Dustdevils this season, defeating TAMIU, 60-57, in the season opener in Stephenville (Nov. 13) and going into Laredo to down the Dustdevils, 67-66, on Nov. 18.

In the first victory,
Joslyn Smith came off the bench to provide a team-high 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting. In game two, three Javelina players reached double figures:
Kaylin Roher (15 points, 3-of-4 from three-point range, three assists, and two steals),
Jamesha Wade (15 points, four rebounds, and two steals) and
Kaylee Kana (11 points on 4-of-7 shooting). Smith provided nine points off the bench.

Roher leads the Hogs, averaging 12.1 points in her first season in Kingsville. The guard adds 2.7 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.6 assists per game and has hit at least two triples in six games this year.
TaSheena Moore has started all nine games and is averaging 8.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists.
Kyra Bauer's 92 percent shooting from the charity stripe ranks in the top 20 in the country and the senior forward adds 7.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Scouting Texas A&M InternationalFor Texas A&M International, Jessica Prieto led all scorers with 26 points in game one and Keiona Matthews was one of four double-digit scorers for the Dustdevils in game two with 20 points and nine rebounds, seven coming on the offensive glass.

TAMIU is 2-5 in 2015-16 after defeating Mary-Hardin Baylor in its previous game, 60-52 (Dec. 5). Matthews is averaging 18.7 points, 7.9 rebounds 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest. Right behind her is Prieto with 17.1 points, 4.6 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game. Prieto is third in NCAA Division II in minutes per game, averaging 38.86 minutes per ballgame and Matthews ranks in the top 40 in the nation in points per game and free throw percentage (89.5).
