KINGSVILLE, Texas (Women's Basketball) – In their first regular season start as Javelinas, Tessa Ramirez and Kyra Bauer combined for 28 points and added 11 rebounds but Texas A&M University-Kingsville (0-2) fell to the undefeated Dustdevils of Texas A&M International University (3-0), 62-47, on Saturday afternoon at the Gil H. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court.

The Javelinas and Dustdevils met in the season opener on Monday.

Bauer finished 4-of-9 from the field and Ramirez went 5-of-7 including a perfect 3-for-3 from three-point range. Lauren Jay and Micah Weaver each pulled down seven rebounds and Ope Ibrahim recorded a team-high eight boards.

The Blue and Gold jumped out to a 6-0 lead and held the Dustdevils scoreless through the first four minutes of the game. However, TAMIU overtook the Javelinas with a 14-5 run of its own, limiting the Hogs to zero field goals until the 8:28 mark in the first half. At halftime, TAMUK trailed 30-19.

Despite shooting just 28 percent from the floor, the Javelinas cut their deficit to single digits in the second half before the Dustdevils closed the gap and ended the afternoon with a 62-47 victory on Saturday.

TAMUK continues its home stand on Tuesday when they host St. Mary's University on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m.
