KINGSVILLE, Texas – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team will seek to bounce back from back-to-back losses for just the second time this season when the Javelinas take on West Texas A&M at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Javelinas enter the game 6-8 overall and are 1-3 in the Lone Star Conference. West Texas A&M has won its first three Lone Star Conference games and is 12-1 on the season. The Buffs have won their last five contests.
Lindsey Mahone and
Ashley Viera lead the Javelinas in scoring. Mahone is sixth in scoring with 13.5 points a game, while Viera is 11
th in scoring with 11.1 a game. Mahone is second in the LSC with 2.2 steals a game and tied for fourth with 6.8 rebounds a game.
Sheana Jones is ninth in the conference with 1.6 steals.
WT has two players in the top five in scoring in the conference as the team is second in the league in scoring at 78.8 points a contest. Chontiquah White is third with 14.3 points a game, while Devin Griffin is fifth with 12.9. Griffin is seventh in the LSC with 6.5 boards and White, who is hitting 58.5% of her shots, is ninth with 6.4 rebounds. Casey Land is third in thefts with 2.0.
