SAN ANGELO, TEXAS – The Texas A&M-Kingsville women’s basketball team was outscored by 11 points in the second half in a 68-59 loss at Lone Star Conference South Division rival Angelo State University on Wednesday night.  (box score)

Junior Angela Franklin (Vacaville, CA/Vanden HS) led the Javelinas (13-8, 3-3) in the first half with 12 points and six rebounds.  The Javs led by as many as six points on three separate occasions, but Camille Perkins scored two late buckets to pull the Rambelles (12-9, 3-3) within two points heading into halftime.

In the second half, the two teams went back-and-forth through the first 17:30 with neither team gaining a big advantage.  The Javelinas last held the lead when LaKeisha Jones (Winnsboro, LA/Crowville HS) put in a lay-up with 7:20 remaining.  Jones later hit a jumper with 2:21 remaining to make pull the team to within 61-59.  Unfortunately, the Javelinas did not score the rest of the way and the Rambelles closed on a 7-0 run.
