KINGSVILLE, TEXAS - Current Chicago Bear and former Texas A&M-Kingsville offensive lineman Robert Garza has been selected to appear on the cover of EA Sports' Madden NFL '09 En Espanol.

Garza joins San Diego Chargers defensive tackle Luis Castillo, who appeared on the '08 cover, as the only two players to be featured on the Madden NFL En Espanol cover.  The Madden franchise has been around for 20 years.  NFL players started appearing on the cover in 2001 when Eddie George was featured.  Since that time Daunte Culpepper, Marshall Faulk, Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, Donovan McNabb, Shaun Alexander, Vince Young and Brett Favre have all been on the cover.

Garza is in his eighth year in the NFL.  As a Javelina he earned First Team All-America honors in football and was the 2000 NCAA Division II National Champion in the Shot Put.
