Wichita Falls -- For the second consecutive game the Texas A&M-Kingsville women's basketball team had a big second half lead, but this time they couldn't hold on to it in a 62-55 loss at Midwestern State. Click here for stats.
  The defeat dropped the Javelinas to 5-10 and 1-1 in the Lone Star Conference South Division while the Mustangs improved to 7-8 and 1-1.
  Sophomore Felicia Soza (Beeville) tied a career-high with 20 points and grabbed six rebounds. Lana Toki was the only other play in double figures with 11 while LaKeisha Jones had 10 rebounds.
  The Javelinas out-scored the Mustangs 8-0 over the final three minutes to the first half to grab a 33-25 halftime advantage.
  The lead grew to 13 as the Javelinas outscored the Mustangs 7-2 in the first four minutes to grab a 40-27 halftime lead.
  A&M-Kingsville still led by 13, 47-34 with 11 minutes left in the game.
  But Midwestern State took over, putting together a 20-6 run over the next eight minutes, capped by a 3-point basket by Brittni Morrison to give the Mustangs their first lead of the second half, 54-53 with 3:10 remaining.
  Toki scored on a layup with 2:18 left in the game to cut the lead to 56-55, but that was the last points the Javelinas would scored as Midwestern State scored the final six points of the game to seal the victory.
