Fernandez led the way for the Javelinas in the women’s 6k at the LSC Championships in Lawton, Okla., with a 60th-place finish and a time of 25:12.28 in the event. The team finished 15th overall at the Big Green Soccer Complex hosted by Cameron with a point total of 393.

On the year, Fernandez added a ninth-place finish in the OLLU Invitational on October 9 with a 6k personal-best time of 23:38.1 while guiding the Javelinas to a fifth-place finish as a team. It was two weeks removed from another personal-best time in the 5k at the Texas A&M Invitational on September 25 at 20:11.5 that earned her LSC Freshman of the Week honors.
