Alanis was named the LSC Offensive Player of the week as she piled up 29 kills with a .431 hitting percentage as TAMUK bested Cameron and Midwestern State to open the league schedule.

She tallied 18 kills in a three-set sweep of the Aggies on Friday, hitting .387 and adding nine digs and two aces in the process. She followed that up with 11 smashes on 20 attacks with only one error to give her a season-best .500 hitting percentage as the Javelinas earned their second straight sweep in the win over the Mustangs.

Alanis’ rate of 4.83 kills per set for the week bumped her season average up to 3.81, slotting her in the top 10 in the conference. She is the first Javelina to be named LSC Offensive Player of the Week since Madison Brabham took home the award in October 2018 and the last TAMUK player to receive any of the LSC’s weekly honors was junior Emily Witt (Rose Hill, Kan.) on March 18, 2021.
