Murff was instrumental in the Javelina volleyball program’s perfect weekend at the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational in San Angelo, Texas, hosted by Lone Star Conference foe Angelo State. The junior from San Antonio collected at least 16 digs in all four matches for the Blue and Gold and paced the squad with eight services aces over that span.
The five-set win in the season opener against Western Colorado on September 3 featured 35 digs, one ace and seven assists to go with her first kill of the year. It was the fourth time in her four-year career Murff picked up at least 35 digs, first time since the 2019 season.
She followed that performance up with 17 digs, two aces and seven assists in a three-set sweep of Northwestern Oklahoma State as the Javelinas finished the first day of the invitational with two wins. She added another 21 digs in the four-set victory over East Central on September 4 along with another ace and finished her weekend with 16 digs and four aces in a four-set win over Anderson.
Murff’s opening weekend on the court featured 5.56 digs per set, second in the LSC in the early season, while the eight aces are tied for fourth-most among the league’s competitors.
