Harper was named LSC Field Athlete of the Week for his efforts in the decathlon for the Javelinas at the 13th Annual Cactus Cup. The redshirt senior from Lorena, Texas, posted the fourth-highest score in Division II in the decathlon this outdoor season with a point total of 7196 to take the crown. He tallied 800+ points in five of the events including a total of 901 in the 110m hurdles with a time of 14.58. He added 883 in the 100m with a time of 10.90, tacked on 859 in the long jump with a leap of 7.19m (23-7.25), finished with 813 in the 400m after crossing the tape in 50.03 and added the final mark of 819 in the pole vault with a height of 4.70m (15-5).
