KINGSVILLE, Texas (Tennis) – Texas A&M University-Kingsville's head tennis coach
Autumn Williams announced the signing of
Sam Peña to a national letter of intent on Wednesday morning.
Peña becomes the first recruit to commit to the Javelinas under Williams, who are in the midst of the best season in school history (12 wins).
The Bruni, Texas native earned five letters for Bruni High School, going 95-16 overall en route to medaling 20 times throughout her high school career for the Badgers. Peña won the 2015 District 32AA title and won a silver medal at the 2014 Texas State Championships.
"I am glad to have Sam join Javelina Nation," said Williams. "She brings athleticism and competitiveness to the team. She will be a great addition for us and we look forward to welcoming her to the program."
