Kingsville - The Texas A&M Kingsville Women's Golf team will begin their Fall season in Goodyear, Texas, at the RGJA Shootout at Estrella hosted by Western New Mexico University.
It is a 36-hole tournament with 13 universities participating in the event from Monday to Tuesday. This will be the second year in a row the Javelinas take part in the tournament. This will also be the fifth year that WNMU hosts the event at the Golf Club of Estrella.
The team wrapped their 2024-25 season at the LSC tournament, finishing in 10th place at the Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club.
"Every season brings a new journey to the culture and development of this program," Head Coach Troy Lopez, who is entering his second year as Head Coach for the Javelinas, said. "I am most proud of the buy-in that this team has right now in what we are doing. I'm also looking forward to the process that each player develops as a season progresses."
This year's squad is bringing back 3 returners from last year in
Zoe Dean,
Jamie Miller and
Mekdes Rozas. Additionally, there will be two new faces in Senior transfer
Mia Scrimgeour from Western Illinois University and Sophomore transfer
Viviana Farias from Southern Arkansas University making up this 5-man roster.

Alessia Rojas stepped into the role of Graduate Assistant Coach for the team.
In the tournament we will see TAMUK, Metro State University of Denver, Jessup University, Fort Lewis College, Lubbock Christian University, California State University (Los Angeles), Point Loma Nazarene, Vanguard University, Arizona Christian, Cal State San Marcos, California State University (Chico), California State University (East Bay) and the hosts of the tournament Western New Mexico University
