Washington earns the honor after a stellar career while donning the Blue and Gold in the 1989-90 and 1990-91 seasons. In his two-year career in Kingsville, Washington recorded 1,253 points including 701 in his senior year, averaging 25 points a game, one of the best all-time.
Washington was a two-time All-Lone Star Conference selection, a Second-Team All-American, and the conference MVP in the 90-91 season.
A native of East Chicago, Indiana, Washington was inducted into the area's Athletic Hall of Fame last September. He is currently serving as an investigator with the East Chicago Police Department.
