Vernie and Blanche Hubert Field has provided a strong home field advantage to the Javelinas over the last twelve years.
During that time, TAMUK has posted seven 10-plus win seasons and have a .663 winning percentage thanks to an 169-86 record.
The winning started in the first-ever game at the field with TAMUK picking up a 1-0 victory over the University of the Incarnate Word in February of 1997.
The key to the home field advantage has been the fans. The Javelinas led the nation in softball attendance in five of their eight years of existence. The Javs hold the all-time NCAA Division II record for single-season record for total attendance with 4,650 fans during the 2001 season. Their average of 332 fans during the 2000 and 2001 seasons are tied for the single-season average attendance. The Javs have three of the top four single season average attendance figures. They are the only school in NCAA Division II history to average more than 300 fans per game for a season.
The 2005 season was another record setting one for the Javs at home. The team posted a school record of 19 wins, including a 15-game win streak. Combined with wins in their final five home dates of 2004, the Javs had a 20-game home win streak.
TAMUK has never had a losing season at Hubert Field. The peak came in 2001 as the Javelinas won 18 of 23 home games, setting the school record winning percentage in a single season.
The facility holds 750 fans, including two permanent grand stand sections, has a two-story press box, ticket booth and concessions stand. The facility has lighting for night games as well.
The distance from home plate to the right and left field fences is 200 feet and 225 feet to the center field wall.
