Robinson was crowned the men's high jump champion at the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa, over the weekend as he cleared the 2.31-meter mark (7-07) on his second attempt to claim the gold.
The Houston native was a fixture for the Javelinas as he was a three-time NCAA Outdoor Champion in the high jump from 2013-15, the 2013 and 2016 NCAA Indoor Champion in the high jump, and an eight-time LSC Champion in the same event for both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Robinson was also a two-time U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year in 2014 and 2015, an honor shared by Greaves who took home the award this past season as the Javelinas claimed the NCAA Outdoor Championship back in May.
Over in Barbados, Greaves lept to the 7.60-meter mark (24-11) in the long jump at the 2018 Barbados National Championships hosted at the National Stadium in Bridgetown over this past weekend.
Thanks to his performance at the national meet, Greaves will represent his country at the North American, Central American and Caribbean Championships (NACAC) as well as the Central American and Caribbean Championships (CAC) later this summer.
In the 2018 season, Greaves collected three First Team All-America honors after the outdoor season as he claimed the NCAA individual title in the triple jump in addition to a relay title as a member of the 4x100 meter relay team, alongside a second-place finish in the long jump and strong performance in the 100 meter dash for his lone second team nod.
At the Barbados National Championships, Greaves raced to a fifth-place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.62 to complete his run at the three-day event.
The 2018 title defense for the Javelina men's track and field program will conclude at Javelina Stadium next year as TAMUK will host the NCAA Outdoor Championships for the 2019 and 2020 outdoor seasons.
