NEW ORLEANS, La. (Track and Field) –Texas A&M University-Kingsville track and field programs retain their exact positions from a week ago with the men ranking No. 2 and women ranking No. 10 in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings. With the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field season coming to a close, the ranking includes all results from the 2016 outdoor season.

The men have a total of 172.04 points which sits 8.72 points ahead of No. 3 Grand Valley State University and 62.3 points behind three-time reigning champion, No. 1 Saint Augustine's University. On the women's side, Kingsville sits in the top ten with 88.42 points behind only one Lone Star Conference institution; No. 4 West Texas A&M University (138.14 points).

The Javelina men sits atop in the men's regional Index for the South Central Region with 417.62 points and the LSC is still ranked second in the Men's Conference Index Top Ten with 429.77 points. The LSC ranks third in the Women's Conference Index Top Ten with 327.26 points.

TAMUK track and field programs will have the upcoming weekend off to prepare for the NCAA Championships held in Tampa, Fla. on May 26-28.
